about

My name is Grace Manley and this is my third semester at Sac City. I’ve lived in Sacramento my whole life in the same house until I recently moved into a studio in midtown. My parents got divorced probably two years ago now, and my dad lives in Elk Grove. I have two older siblings, a brother and a sister, who both live in town. I work 5 days a week at a restaurant in East Sac.

I went to a private catholic school until high school, which I was not entirely fond of, but I met some great friends that I still love to this day. When I was 11 or 12, my mom got sick and she was in and out of hospitals for the next two years. The medicine she was taking for her disease ended up making her, for lack of a better word, crazy. It was hard being a kid and seeing your mom act like someone else. At this time my sister was living in San Francisco, so it was just my dad, brother, and me dealing with it. I’m better now because of it.

High school was high school. I graduated a semester early because I hated getting up in the morning and going to school. I also got mono my junior year and ended up doing hospital-home school, which was awesome because it was so easy and I got to sleep in. After I graduated, I took that semester off school and just worked.

Now I’m here and I’m hoping to get into a sonography program once I get my AA, but I’m still figuring everything out.
